SHIPPING AND RETURNS POLICY

Material Kit Warranties

What Is Covered

The manufacturer provides the following warranties on materials included in your kit:

  • Wood Posts: Limited warranty against manufacturing defects affecting structural integrity
  • Metal Siding and Roofing: 40-year warranty against premature weathering, cracking, or coating failure under normal weather conditions
  • Windows and Doors: Manufacturer warranties apply – warranty documentation provided with invoices

What Is Not Covered

The following are excluded from material warranty coverage:

  • Damage due to improper installation, storage, or handling
  • Normal wear and tear or fading due to exposure
  • Damage from extreme weather events (hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, earthquakes)
  • Modifications made to materials after delivery
  • Damage from improper site preparation or foundation issues
  • Cosmetic issues that do not affect structural integrity or function
  • Any other issues arising from causes other than manufacturing defects

Return and Refund Policies

Material Kit Returns

Limited Return Eligibility: Due to the custom nature of barndominium kits and difficulty of transporting materials, returns are extremely limited.

Eligible for consideration:

  • Materials damaged during shipping (must be reported within 48 hours of delivery)
  • Incorrect materials shipped due to our error (must be reported within 7 days of delivery)
  • Manufacturing defects affecting structural integrity (must be reported within 30 days of delivery)

Not Eligible for Return:

  • Change of mind or project cancellation after production has begun
  • Incorrect measurements provided by customer
  • Materials that have been installed, modified, or used
  • Custom-cut lumber or pre-fabricated components
  • Materials stored improperly causing damage

Digital Plan Returns and Refunds

NO REFUNDS POLICY: All digital plan purchases are FINAL and NON-REFUNDABLE once access has been granted or download initiated due to the immediate access provided to proprietary design information.

Limited Exceptions for Technical Issues Only:

  • Billing errors (duplicate charges, incorrect amount charged)
  • Technical failures preventing download access due to our system errors
  • Corrupted or incomplete file delivery due to our technical issues

NOT Eligible for Refund:

  • Change of mind after purchase
  • Customer's inability to open, view, or use PDF files
  • Customer's technical difficulties with their devices or software
  • Discovery that plans don't meet local building codes
  • Discovery that plans don't fit customer's site or requirements
  • Customer's internet or download issues
  • Plans that have been successfully downloaded (even if not used)

Plan Modification Refunds: Custom plan modification services are non-refundable once work has commenced.

Material Kit Refund Process

  1. Contact Us Immediately: Report issues within specified timeframes
  2. Documentation Required: Provide photos of damage/defects and delivery receipt
  3. Return Authorization: Receive written return authorization before shipping materials
  4. Packaging: Return materials in original packaging when possible
  5. Shipping: Customer responsible for return shipping costs unless due to our error
  6. Refund Terms: Approved returns receive refund of material cost only; shipping costs non-refundable except for items shipped in error; refunds processed within 10-15 business days

Digital Plan Technical Issue Resolution

  1. Contact Support: Report technical issues within 48 hours of purchase
  2. Technical Verification: We will verify if the issue is system-related
  3. Resolution Options: Re-send files, provide alternative download method, or issue refund for confirmed technical failures
  4. Customer Responsibility: Technical issues on customer's end are not eligible for refund

Digital Plan Access and Usage Rights

Plan Purchase Credit System

If you purchase digital plans and subsequently purchase a barndominium kit featuring the same design, the full purchase price of the digital plans will be credited toward your kit purchase.

Digital Plan Access Rights

Purchase of digital barndominium construction plans provides access for consultation and preliminary evaluation purposes only.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Digital plan purchases grant viewing and evaluation rights only. Construction and usage rights require separate written licensing agreements with terms determined by COMPANY.

What Digital Plan Purchase Includes:

  • Access to view and download plan files
  • Right to print plans for personal consultation
  • Permission to share plans with qualified professionals for evaluation purposes only
  • Preliminary planning and assessment rights

What Digital Plan Purchase DOES NOT Include:

  • Construction rights or building permissions
  • Authorization to use plans for any construction activity
  • Rights to modify, adapt, or create derivative works
  • Commercial use permissions
  • Authorization to share plans beyond preliminary consultation

Construction and Usage Authorization

SEPARATE LICENSING REQUIRED: All construction, building, development, or usage rights require separate, written licensing agreements from Barndo Kit Co. with terms determined exclusively by COMPANY.

Licensing may include but is not limited to:

  • Authorized construction locations and geographic restrictions
  • Number of permitted structures or uses
  • Scope of permitted modifications or adaptations
  • Authorized contractors and subcontractor permissions
  • Duration and territorial limits of granted rights
  • Compliance requirements with applicable codes and regulations
  • Commercial use authorizations
  • Other terms and conditions as determined by COMPANY

Contact us for construction licensing: All construction and usage licensing is determined at COMPANY's sole discretion and requires separate fees and written agreements.

Prohibited Uses and Copyright Protection

Strictly Prohibited Without Written Authorization:

  • Constructing, building, or developing any structure using our plans
  • Reproducing, copying, scanning, or photographing plans for any purpose beyond personal consultation
  • Sharing plans with contractors, subcontractors, or third parties without express written consent from COMPANY
  • Using plans as basis for creating derivative works or competing designs
  • Posting plans on social media, websites, or public forums
  • Using plans for multiple projects without separate authorization for each use
  • Using plans for any commercial development, rental properties, or business purposes
  • Selling, licensing, or distributing plans to third parties
  • Creating modifications, adaptations, or derivative works
  • Removing copyright notices or watermarks from plans

Copyright Enforcement: All construction plans are protected by U.S. copyright laws. Unauthorized use may result in legal action including statutory damages up to $150,000 per work infringed plus attorney fees and costs.

Customer Obligations: Customers must immediately report any suspected copyright infringement or unauthorized use to Barndo Kit Co.

Construction Disclaimers and Enhanced Warnings

Site-Specific Requirements

Our plans and materials are designed to meet generally accepted construction standards. However, they are prepared without knowledge of your specific site conditions, which may include:

  • Local soil bearing capacity and frost depth requirements
  • Seismic and wind zone specifications
  • Local building code variations
  • Site-specific engineering requirements

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR DIGITAL PLAN PURCHASERS: Digital plans provide design concepts for consultation and evaluation only and do not include construction authorization, materials, installation guidance, or technical support beyond download assistance.

CRITICAL SAFETY WARNING: Any construction of barndominium structures involves significant safety risks. Digital plan purchasers seeking construction authorization are strongly advised to:

  • Obtain proper written construction licensing from Barndo Kit Co.
  • Consult with qualified structural engineers before any construction
  • Verify all structural requirements with local building professionals
  • Ensure all work is performed by qualified contractors familiar with post-frame construction
  • Obtain appropriate permits and inspections as required by local authorities

DIY BUILDER WARNING: Construction activities require appropriate construction experience and expertise. Improper construction techniques can result in structural failure, property damage, personal injury, or death.

Customer Responsibilities

It is your responsibility to:

  • Obtain written construction licensing before any building or development activity
  • Consult with local building departments for code compliance
  • Hire qualified structural engineers when required by local codes
  • Ensure all work meets current federal, state, and local building requirements
  • Verify all dimensions and specifications before any construction begins
  • Obtain all necessary permits and inspections
  • Engage qualified contractors for any construction activities

ACCESS ONLY: Barndo Kit Co. provides digital plan access only and does not provide construction authorization, construction guidance, technical support, installation services, or materials quality assurance for digital plan purchases.

NO CONSTRUCTION AUTHORIZATION: Digital plan access does not grant any construction, building, or usage rights whatsoever.

NO CODE COMPLIANCE WARRANTY: We make no representations that digital plans comply with your local building codes, zoning requirements, or site-specific conditions.

NO STRUCTURAL WARRANTY: We provide no warranty regarding structural integrity, safety, or performance of any structures.

CUSTOMER ASSUMES ALL RISKS: Digital plan purchasers assume all risks associated with plan access and any subsequent activities.

Damage Claims

Material Kit Shipping Damage

  • Inspect all materials immediately upon delivery
  • Note any damage on freight delivery receipt
  • Photograph damaged materials before moving or using
  • Contact us within 48 hours of delivery to report damage
  • We will coordinate replacement of damaged materials at no cost

Material Kit Manufacturing Defects

  • Report suspected defects within 30 days of delivery
  • Provide clear photos showing the defect
  • Include lot numbers or identification markings when possible
  • We will evaluate and replace confirmed defective materials

Digital Plan Technical Issues

  • Report download or file access issues within 48 hours of purchase
  • Provide details about error messages or technical problems encountered
  • We will verify and resolve confirmed technical issues on our end
  • Customer technical difficulties are not covered

Force Majeure

Delivery delays due to circumstances beyond our control (including but not limited to natural disasters, labor strikes, material shortages, or transportation disruptions) do not constitute breach of our delivery commitments. We will communicate any known delays as soon as possible.

Workmanship Exclusion

Important: Barndo Kit Co. provides materials and/or plan access only and does not provide installation services or construction authorization. We do not warranty any workmanship, installation, or construction performed by you or your contractors. Installation warranties must be obtained directly from your chosen contractor or installation team.
